What is a JAP file?

A JAP file is a project settings file created by jAlbum, a program used to create and manage photo galleries. It contains settings for a jAlbum album, which include the style, type of skin, skin font, and skin text color of the album.

More Information

A JAP file is created by jAlbum when you save a project for the first time by selecting Menu → File → Save. The JAP file is generated along with several other project files, which include .PROPERTIES, .TXT, and .HTT files.

JAP files are saved by default in the "My Albums" folder. However, you can change the default location by selecting Menu → jAlbum → Preferences → Album in Windows. In macOS, you can select Menu → Tools → Preferences.

jAlbum is similar to a photo manager, such as Microsoft Photos and Apple Photos. The software allows you to organize photos into albums, use basic editing tools, and upload albums to the web as HTML- or Flash-based galleries.
