What is a BONS file?
A BONS file is a project file created by Bones, a modified version of MIT Scratch. It contains a Scratch 1.4 program, which is typically a small animation or game. However, BONS files can be opened only in Bones; they cannot be opened in Scratch.
More Information
Bones is a slightly-modified version of Scratch 1.4. It is reskinned and contains some custom programming blocks that the default version of Scratch 1.4 does not include. While Scratch 1.4 saves developers' programming projects as .SB files, Bones saves them as BONS files. Developers can open BONS files in Bones just as they would open an SB file in Scratch 1.4.
How to open a BONS file
You can open a BONS file with Bones (Windows). To do so, select File → Open from the program's menu bar. Then, navigate to and open your BONS file. The development project your BONS file contains will then appear in Bones.
