Font settings file used by AutoCAD, a CAD program used for drawing and documenting 2D and 3D designs; stores a mapping between a list of fonts and their substitutes; commonly includes references to .PFB, .SHX, and .TTF files; opened by AutoCAD when a default font cannot be found in order to locate the replacement font to be used.

FMP files are saved in plain text and can be edited with a text editor. They store substitutions separated by line breaks in the following format:

original_font;replacement_font_file

The default AutoCAD font map file has the name acad.fmp for AutoCAD and acadlt.fmp for AutoCAD LT.

An FMP file is a database created by Claris FileMaker Pro, a data management program for Windows and macOS. It contains business data organized into tables and records. Users commonly refer to databases created by specific versions of FileMaker Pro as FMP files, even though those files actually use different, version-specific file extensions.

For example, while asking for help with FileMaker Pro 5, a user may refer to a database they created as an FMP file. This is because FMP is a common abbreviation for FileMaker Pro. However, FileMaker Pro 5 actually saves databases as .FP5 files. Thus, the user's file is likely an FP5 file.

You can open an FMP file with FileMaker Pro (Windows, Mac). Note, however, that if your file uses the .fmp extension, you'll likely have to change the extension to one of the correct, version-specific extensions listed above.
