UVW are similar to the traditional XYZ 2D mapping coordinates:
- U = X and represents the horizontal line of the map
- V = Y and represents the vertical line of the map
- W = Z and represents the line perpendicular to the UV direction on the map
The "Unwrap UVW Modifier" tool in Autodesk 3ds Max enables you to assign mapping coordinates and modify existing UVW coordinates on your object.
