An LRCAT-DATA file is an ancillary data file created by Adobe Lightroom Classic, the desktop-only version of Adobe Lightroom. It contains information linked to a corresponding Adobe Lightroom Classic Catalog (.LRCAT file). Lightroom Classic began creating LRCAT-DATA files in version 11.

LRCAT-DATA files always use the same filename as their corresponding LRCAT file. So, an LRCAT file named LightroomCatalog.lrcat would be linked with an LRCAT-DATA file named LightroomCatalog.lrcat-data.
When you transfer or back up an LRCAT file that is linked to an LRCAT-DATA file, you must also transfer or back up the LRCAT-DATA file. Otherwise, Adobe Lightroom Classic will not be able to load your Lightroom Classic Catalog.

LRCAT-DATA files are not meant to be opened by users. Lightroom Classic automatically loads the data from an LRCAT file's corresponding LRCAT-DATA file when a user opens the LRCAT file.
