A GMS file contains a game save created by Garry's Mod, a physics sandbox game that revolves around building random objects. When you save game progress in Garry's Mod, a GMS file is created to store the save information. You can save a game by holding "Q" on the keyboard, which opens the menu, select the "Saves" tab on the right, and click Save. You can also type the "F6" key as a shortcut.
GMS files are created by default in the following location in the game installation folder:
\GarrysMod\garrysmod\save
