File created by SPSS statistical analysis software; stores the parameters of an analysis plan created using the Analysis Preparation Wizard (Analyze → Complex Samples → Prepare for Analysis...); used to generate SPSS syntax, which contains the SPSS commands required to run the analysis.

In order to run an analysis plan, you need to copy the syntax generated from a CSAPLAN file, paste it into an SPSS syntax file (.SPS file), and then run in SPSS. The Analysis Preparation Wizard has an option that does this automatically. The option is labeled, "Paste the syntax generated by the Wizard into a syntax window."
