A BRAIN file is a coglet file used by ProtoCog, a browser-based simulation developed by R74n in which users teach a virtual creature to communicate by talking to it. As a user interacts with the coglet, it learns patterns in the words and messages it receives and uses those patterns to generate responses. BRAIN files allow a user to save this learned information via the option in ProtoCog and reuse it.
