Software Overview

Google Photos is a photo organizing application for Android, iOS, Chrome OS, and the web. The app is used to view, edit, and share photos and videos locally on a device or online.

Photos supports various image and video formats, such as .JPEG, .PNG, .TIFF, .GIF, .MP4, .MOV, .WMV, .AVI, and .3GP. By default, the app organizes photos and videos by date, but you can search them by category and add them to albums or archive them. If you are a Windows or Mac user, you can download the Backup and Sync app available with Photos to automatically back up and sync photos from your computer.

The app enables you to make edits to your images, including the ability to crop, rotate, and adjust the light and color of the picture. Or you can apply filters, such as metro, blush, modena, vogue, vista, and west, to the pictures. You can also create movies, animations, and collages from your images.

Photos enables you to share your pictures and videos with another Google account user, save them as .PDF files, and print them locally or professionally as a book or canvas. You can also cast images and videos to a compatible television on the same Wi-Fi network.

Photos is a useful tool for organizing and sharing photos and making simple and quick edits to them. If you are looking for advanced editing capabilities, you should look elsewhere to other applications, such as Adobe Photoshop or GIMP. But if you are a Google user looking for a helpful, and free, photo organizer (that pairs well with Google Drive), look no further than Google Photos.
