Software Overview
Epic Games Unreal Tournament is a First Person Shooter (FPS) game. It was originally released for Windows in 1998 and is now available through Steam.
Unreal Tournament pits you against your opponents with frenetic "King of the Hill" gameplay similar to Quake III Arena. The game primarily focuses on head-to-head multiplayer deathmatches but also provides a single-player campaign that consists of a series of arena matches against bots. Featured game types include Deathmatch, Team Deathmatch, Capture the Flag, Last Man Standing, Domination, and Assault.
Unreal Tournament allows you to customize the bots by changing their names, awareness, appearance, and weapon preferences. More importantly, you can choose their difficulty from Novice to Hardcore Modes that make the opponent bots slower and weaker or quicker and stronger depending on how much of a challenge you want.
Unreal Tournament won over many FPS fans and was the 1999 Game of the Year. The game was played in the 2001 and 2002 World Cyber Game and eventually spawned several sequels. Although the graphics are nowhere near today's offerings, Epic Games Unreal Tournament is still a fun, action-packed FPS game.
