- Choose the world the sim will live in and purchase items
- Socially interact with others to create friends and romantic partners
Electronic Arts The Sims 3 is the third installment to the popular franchise. It allows you to create and control the lives of human "sims."
The Sims 3 features life simulation gameplay where you play "God" and get to control one or more virtual lifeforms. You start by creating a sim and customizing everything from its gender to body type to hair style to tattoos. You can then select its skills, which includes charisma, handiness, and playing the guitar, and then place your sim into a career field such as medical, law enforcement, journalism, culinary, and politics.
Once you finish creating your sims you can choose the type of world, or neighborhood, that he or she will live in. You can then purchase items and build and decorate your house, much like in the real world. However, the primary purpose of the game is not to just buy things but rather to socially interact with other sims and create friends and romantic partners.
The Sims 3 was received well by both fans and critics when it was originally released back in 2009. It takes the same familiar concept from its first two predecessors and adds some fresh takes to the series. It also allows you to purchase expansion packs to add more features, such as worlds and items, to the game. If you enjoy any of The Sims releases then you will most definitely enjoy Electronic Arts The Sims 3.
