Celestia is a 3D astronomy application for Windows, Mac OS X, and Linux platforms. The program enables user to visualize the universe by exploring planets, stars, galaxies, and more.
In Celestia, you can explore the far reaches of the universe. You can navigate the solar system, travel to different planets, orbit stars, and more. The simulator can be used to display the orbital paths of spacecraft, asteroids, planets, and artificial satellites. Celestia lets you zoom in to objects thousands of miles away at different points in history. The application is highly extensible, as well. There is a large user community that develops different types of add-ons that extend program features, such as additional objects and even fictional universes that appear in movies such as Star Wars and Star Trek.
