O que é um arquivo XER?
An XER file is a project plan created by Oracle Primavera P6, a project management application. It contains information about a project plan, including tasks, timeline items, materials, and other resources, in a proprietary format. Primavera P6 users export project plans as XER files to share them with other users and transfer them to other databases (e.g., a contractor sharing an XER project plan with a client).

Oracle Primavera is an enterprise-level project management program that allows project managers to design, schedule, and analyze projects. Project managers in various industries, like engineering and construction, often use the software. Oracle acquired Primavera from Primavera Systems in 2008.
Primavera initially developed the XER format, releasing it with its Eagle Ray software ("XER" is short for "eXchange Eagle Ray"). After Oracle acquired Primavera in 2008, it integrated support for the XER format in Primavera, enabling the software to export and import project information in the format.
Como abrir um arquivo XER
You can open XER files with Oracle Primavera. To do so, select File → Import → Primavera PM (XER) from the program's menu bar. Then, follow the prompts that appear on-screen.
You can also open an XER file with ScheduleReader, XER Manager Professional, and any project management application that uses the MPXJ library.
