Czym jest plik DIG?
A DIG file is a data file used by select versions of Digilink radio broadcast automation software. It may contain various information in text format, such as schedules, system passwords, clock settings, and activity logs.

You will most likely only encounter the files if you are in the radio broadcasting industry and use Digilink software, such as Digilink 2 or 3. However, DIG data files are obscure nowadays, since the versions that supported the files have been superseded by other versions of Digilink software.

A DIG file is an audio file created by Digidesign Sound Designer, a Macintosh-based audio editing program developed in the 1980s. It contains uncompressed Pulse-Code Modulation (PCM) data in the Digidesign (DIG) format to preserve sound quality without loss.
Więcej informacji
Digidesign introduced Sound Designer and the DIG format in 1984. It soon became common among audio professionals and musicians for recording and editing digital audio on Macintosh computers. While common in the 1980s and early 1990s, the format declined in the mid-1990s as more versatile and standardized formats, like .WAV and .AIFF, became widely supported across platforms.
UWAGA: Digidesign eventually discontinued Sound Designer in the 1990s in favor of Pro Tools, which Avid Technology acquired in 1995.
