An AIS file is an Advanced Instrument System used by Velvet Studio, a music tracker developed for MS-DOS and Microsoft Windows. It contains a synthesized instrument you can load in Velvet Studio. You can then select the instrument to play notes using that instrument.

Velvet Development Velvet Studio is a music tracker that was originally developed by Patrik Oscarsson and David Broman and released in 1996. Later, Pontus Munck provided additional development.
Velvet Studio uses many proprietary file types, including .ASE, .AMS, and AIS files. AIS files contain instrument data, used to control what instrument(s) notes played in Velvet Studio sound like. You can create your own AIS files using Velvet Studio's Instrument Editor.
Jak otworzyć plik AIS
You can open an AIS file in Velvet Development Velvet Studio (Windows). To do so, place the file in Velvet Studio's instrument directory. (You can view the location of this directory in Velvet Studio by selecting CONFIG → Configure Paths, followed by INST.) Then, use Velvet Studio's Disk Option screen to find and load your AIS file.
