An F4F file is a portion of a Flash Video (.FLV) file, created by Adobe Media Server. Adobe Media Server breaks FLV files into sets of F4F files before sending them to client devices. This allows users to stream video content more efficiently.

Users' streaming media players (typically Adobe Flash Player) automatically stitch F4F files together into a single, seamless video during the playback process.
