Wat is een CER-bestand?
A CER file is a security file provided by a third-party Certificate Authority, such as VeriSign or Thawte, that verifies the authenticity of a website. It is installed on a web server to establish the validity of a particular website hosted on the server.
Meer informatie
You can view a website's certificate in a web browser by clicking the lock icon when accessing a secure site (secure sites use SSL encryption as seen by the https:// prefix in the URL). In each of the major web browsers, such as Google Chrome, Microsoft Edge, and Mozilla Firefox, the lock icon is located on the left side of the address bar.
