Brad Larsen initially developed and released Power Tab Editor in the late 1990s. The program became popular among guitarists and bassists, but he eventually ceased development of it in the early 2000s. However, members of the Power Tab community began developing a successor after acquiring its source code and eventually released Power Tab Editor 2.
참고: The first version of Power Tab Editor saved tablature in the .PTB format until version 1.7. However, PowerTab Editor 2 replaced the PTB format with PT2.
