A ZSM file is an audio file saved in the Zerosound Music format. It contains audio that is meant to be included in a Commander X16 Program (.PRG file). Primarily, users create ZSM files with the Zsound library. However, the Furnace music tracker can also create ZSM files.

The Commander X16 is an 8-bit computer created by David Murray, a.k.a. The 8-Bit Guy. To prepare for the X16's physical release, Murray released an X16 emulator that is available on the web and for Windows, Mac, and Linux. Both the physical and emulated version of the X16 run programs saved as PRG files.
X16 enthusiast ZeroByte created the Zsound library, which allows users to create music and sound effects for use in X16 programs. These audio files are saved in the ZSM format. ZSM is a streaming data format that contains chip command bytes. It is similar to the .VGM format. (Zsound allows developers to convert VGM audio files to the ZSM format.)
ZSMファイルの開き方
You can use Zsound's ZSM player (multiplatform) to play the audio a ZSM file contains. You can also use the Commander X16 program Calliope to play ZSM files.
