Che cos'è un file PERSONALITY?
A PERSONALITY file is an artificial intelligence (AI) configuration used by Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition. It defines how a computer-controlled player behaves during a match, including its chosen civilization, strategy preferences, and difficulty level. Each PERSONALITY file represents an AI “personality,” such as a historical leader or named opponent, and contains data in the XML standard that helps the game control how that AI builds, attacks, and interacts with other players.

Some examples of settings that PERSONALITY files store that influence AI decision-making include values for aggression or economy focus, the civilization it uses, and historical data from recent games, such as win history or unit composition. The game automatically reads the PERSONALITY files to customize the AI's play style and performance, allowing for more varied and dynamic computer opponents.
NOTA: PERSONALITY files are stored in the AI folder within the game's user directory in Windows.

PERSONALITY files are not meant to be opened. Instead, Age of Empires III: Definitive Edition automatically loads the information in the PERSONALITY file.
However, players and modders may attempt to edit PERSONALITY files to adjust AI behavior or create new personalities for custom gameplay experiences. The files can be opened and viewed with any text or code editor, such as Microsoft Notepad or Microsoft Visual Studio Code. Remember that editing PERSONALITY file incorrectly may cause unexpected behavior in the game's AI.
