Che cos'è un file DNA?
A DNA file is a data file created by GSL Biotech SnapGene, a molecular biology analysis application. It stores a DNA sequence and includes metadata, such as the author, a description of the sequence, and comments.
Maggiori informazioni
GSL Biotech SnapGene is a molecular biology program that documents, designs, and simulates DNA sequences. When you save a DNA sequence, the software creates a DNA file to store the contents.
To create a DNA file with SnapGene, follow these steps:
- Select File → New DNA or RNA File...
- Choose the "DNA" sequence type
- Create the sequence
- Name the file
- Select OK
After creating the DNA file, you can save it by selecting File → Save or Save As.... Then, after saving the file, you can close it and re-open it to modify the sequence further.
Come aprire un file DNA
You can open a DNA file with GSL Biotech SnapGene (multiplatform). To open a DNA file with SnapGene, select File → Open Files....
You can also open a DNA file with SnapGene Viewer in Windows and macOS. However, it does not provide the same extensive capabilities that SnapGene offers.
Come convertire un file DNA
GSL Biotech SnapGene can convert DNA files to various file types, including the following formats:

1.5 | 2 Voti |
Data file used by GenePool, an artificial life simulation game; contains the DNA for a creature that can be simulated with other creatures in a virtual experiment; sometimes used for competitions to see which player's custom creatures survive better than others when simulated together.

NOTA: DNA files are also used by Darwin Pond, the predecessor to GenePool. However, Darwin Pond DNA files use a plain text format while GenePool DNA files use binary formatting. The Darwin Pond DNA files contain a fixed list of parameters separated by line breaks, and each file has the same file size.
