The contents, which may include a .VCF contacts file named contacts.vcf can then be opened with a program that supports the file type. After extracting the contents, compress the files as a .ZIP file, then rename the .zip file extension to .dbk.

For example, when you issue the MODIFY STRUCTURE command, dBASE automatically creates a backup of the original table with the .dbk file extension, then creates a new table with the .dbf file extension to store the modified table structure. After you finish adjusting the structure, dBASE moves the content from the DBK backup file to the new DBF database file.
