.LOC Extension de fichier

Locator file used by TrackMania racing games; contains a URL that directly links to custom content, such as cars, skins, horns, and avatars, you are using in the game.

The LOC file is used by TrackMania games to transfer content from a direct download server to you or another player. When you join a game, other players can download your custom content from the URL instead of going through a P2P (Peer-to-peer) network, which allows players to download your content faster and save bandwidth.

You can create a LOC file with any text editor. Go to the folder that contains your content you want to share, right click, select New → Text document. Then, name the file the same name as the content file you're creating the LOC file for (example.zip becomes example.zip.loc) and save it in the same folder. You can then insert the URL of the file host that is hosting your content into the LOC file. The host must support direct download, which is when the host enables immediate file download as soon as you visit the URL.

A LOC file is a localization file used by Minecraft: Legacy Console Edition. It contains strings and other data used to translate in-game text to different languages.

Minecraft: Legacy Console Edition is the collective name for console versions of Minecraft developed by 4J Studios. These versions of Minecraft have since been replaced by Minecraft Bedrock Edition.

While Minecraft Java Edition and Minecraft Bedrock Edition use .LANG files for localization, the Minecraft: Legacy Console Edition games use LOC files. Additionally, each of the games' DLC packs (saved in .PCK files) include a pack-specific LOC file.

You can use the third-party modding tool PCK Studio (Windows) to open LOC files and edit the localization data they contain.
