A YC file is a compressed archive created by YAC (Yet Another Compressor), a file compression utility for DOS. It contains one or more files that have been compressed and stored in the archive.

Aleksandras Surna developed the YAC utility and the YC file format. The utility uses an improved version of the LZ+Huffman compression algorithm to compress files.
