What is a WKU file?
A WKU file is a spreadsheet created by early versions of Lotus 1-2-3, one of the first widely used spreadsheet programs for DOS-based systems and early versions of Microsoft Windows. It stores spreadsheet data in a structured format, including rows, columns, numbers, text, and formulas.
More Information
Many businesses used Lotus 1-2-3 during the 1980s and 1990s for financial calculations, data tracking, and reporting. In these contexts, users created WKU files to organize information, perform calculations, and generate printed reports. As Lotus Software (later acquired by IBM) continued to develop Lotus 1-2-3, it released newer file formats, such as .WK1, .WK3 and .WK4, which replaced WKU, offering more features and improved compatibility.
How to open a WKU file
You can open WKU files with Lotus 1-2-3. However, the software is discontinued. WKU files are a legacy format, which modern spreadsheet software does not support.
