What is a TKPROJ file?
A TKPROJ file is a project created by earlier versions of TunesKit AceMovi Video Editor, a video editor for Windows and macOS. It stores information about a video editing project in the XML standard, including references to imported video, audio, and image files, along with timeline edits such as cuts, transitions, effects, and text overlays. TKPROJ files contain links to source files imported into the project, not the actual media.
More Information
After saving a project as a TKPROJ file, you can close and reopen it to continue working on it. When AceMovi Video Editor loads the file, it reconstructs the editing timeline and applies effects and project settings.
NOTE: TunesKit replaced the TKPROJ format with the newer .AMPROJ project format in recent versions of AceMovi Video Editor.
How to open a TKPROJ file
You can open TKPROJ files with older versions of TunesKit AceMovi Video Editor. To open the TKPROJ file, select File → Open Project.
Since TKPROJ files store text in the XML standard, you can also open them with a text editor. However, opening them this way will not appear the same as with AceMovi Video Editor, and incorrectly modifying them may break elements in the project.

A TKPROJ file may also be a project created by TotK Mod Manager (TKMM), a tool used to create, manage, and package mods for The Legend of Zelda: Tears of the Kingdom. It stores the settings and metadata for a mod project, including information such as the mod's name, version, author details, description, thumbnail, and configuration options.
More Information
Mod developers and hobbyists who create or maintain mods for Tears of the Kingdom are the primary users of TKMM. These users rely on TKMM to simplify tasks such as organizing mod content, defining options, and preparing distributable mod packages.
When a mod creator works in the program's "Projects" or "Packaging" section, TKMM uses the TKPROJ file to store all entered data and configuration choices. This includes references to mod folders (such as romfs, exefs, or cheats directories) and optional configuration groups that define how users can customize the mod. By saving project data in a TKPROJ file, creators can update existing mods while retaining the same internal identifiers, helping ensure that newer versions properly replace older ones when installed.
How to open a TKPROJ file
You can open TKPROJ files with TotK Mod Manager. To open a TKPROJ file, select the Open Project option or choose it from the recent projects list.
