What is an ST3 file?
An ST3 file is a compressed .MIDI file used by various computer karaoke programs, such as Star 3 and Real Orchestra. It contains music data in the MIDI format for how the instrumentation of a song is to be played. ST3 files also store the subtitle lyrics for a song, along with the artist and name of the song.

ST3 files can be played with Star 3 and Real Orchestra programs. However, both of these programs have been discontinued.
