What is a SISX file?
A SISX file is a software installer for Symbian OS 9.1 or later. It is used to install an app on a Symbian OS device, such as cell phones that use the Nokia S60 3rd Edition platform or the UIQ 3 platform. Various Nokia and Samsung smartphones use the Nokia S60 platform. Primarily, Sony Ericsson and Motorola phones use the UIQ 3 platform.
More Information
SISX files are similar to .SIS files, except they are compatible only with devices running Symbian OS 9.1 or later. Developers create SISX files the same way they create SIS files, using the makesis (MakeSIS) and signsis (SignSIS) tools included with the CreateSIS application.
How to open a SISX file
You can use the Nokia PC Suite (Windows) to transfer a SISX file to a compatible Nokia mobile phone and install the app the SISX file contains. If you need to transfer a SISX file to another type of phone or mobile device, use that device's associated software.
If you want to view a SISX file's contents, you can unpack the file with SISContents (Windows) or Deark (Windows).
