What is an SCRATCH file?
A SCRATCH file is a development project created by version 0.x of MIT Scratch, a block-based development environment. It contains a program a user created in Scratch, as well as any images, audio, or other assets the user imported into their development project. SCRATCH files were replaced by .SB files in Scratch 1.0.
More Information
Scratch is a popular development environment that children and other novice developers use to learn how to code. MIT released the original version of Scratch, known as Scratch 0.x, in 2003.
Scratch 0.x saved users' development projects as SCRATCH files. These files are binary files that contain the project's Scratch source code and other assets, translated into binary data.
How to open an SCRATCH file
You can open a SCRATCH file with versions 0.x and 1.x of MIT Scratch, which are still available in some online Scratch archives. You cannot open SCRATCH files with current versions of Scratch.
