What is an SCPTD file?
Compiled script created by Apple Script Editor; a script editor that uses AppleScript, an automation scripting language; contains a compiled script.
To save a compiled script (a SCPTD file), follow these steps:
- Select File → Save.
- Choose your desired location to save the file.
- When the window opens, select "script" from the File Format pop-up menu.
- Name your script (should have the SCPTD file extension) and select Save.
When saving the SCPTD file you can select the Run Only option so the compiled script will run when you double-click it. But if you select this option you will not be able to edit it again.
NOTE: The SCPTD file is the saved compiled version of the .SCPT file.
