What is an RCPROJECT file?
An RCPROJECT file contains a project created by Apple Reality Composer, a program used to prototype and produce augmented reality (AR) content. It stores information about a 3D scene, which may include multiple objects, animation and physics properties, audio data, and project metadata.
More Information
You will most likely only encounter an RCPROJECT file if you are a developer creating 3D objects or scenes for a website or an application with Apple Reality Composer. After finishing their 3D scene or model, developers may export the project as a .USDZ or .REALITY 3D model that can be visualized with apps and websites that utilize AR technology.
The USDZ and Reality formats are supported by various types of apps, including games, educational tools, e-commerce websites, and data visualization programs. For example, an e-commerce website may enable users to view a 3D model of a dining table exported from an RCPROJECT file in their dining room through augmented reality technology on their mobile devices.
NOTE: Reality Composer enables users to create, edit, save, open, and export RCPROJECT files. It is available for iOS and iPadOS and is bundled with Apple Xcode 11 for macOS.

Movie project created with iMovie '08 (a.k.a. iMovie 7) or later; includes a timeline with references to video clips, as well as effects, audio tracks, transitions, and other settings.
More Information
Unlike previous versions of iMovie, iMovie '08 saves all files by default in the ~/Movies/iMovie Projects folder. Each movie project in this folder will show up in the "Project Library" pane of the iMovie editing window. Since iMovie '08 saves video projects on the fly, there is no "Save" option in the File menu.
NOTE: You can import iMovie projects into Apple Final Cut Pro X by selecting File → Import → iMovie Project....
