A P2M file may also be a cheat code file used by GameShark for PlayStation 2 (PS2). Gamers can use a P2M file to activate one or more cheats in an associated video game. To do so, they must place the file on a USB flash drive and load it onto their PS2.
GameShark is a product that allows gamers to apply cheats (such as unlocking invincibility or special items) to console video games. GameShark for PS2 is a disc that can be placed in the PS2, just like any other game disc, and used to activate cheats for PS2 games. These cheats are applied to a player's PS2 memory card and loaded from that memory card when the player plays the associated game.
P2M files contain cheats that are not included on the default GameShark for PS2 disc but can be loaded and used in a game. To load the cheat a P2M file contains, users must:
- Place the file on a USB flash drive.
- Insert the flash drive into their PS2.
- Load GameShark for PS2.
- Use GameShark for PS2 to apply the cheat the P2M file contains.
NOTE: In the past, players could download P2M files from GameShark's official website.
