What is an MV_ file?
An MV_ file is a backup movie file created by MAGIX Movie Studio, a program for editing home movies. It contains a backup of an .MVP movie file that Movie Studio automatically creates at regular intervals. Movie Studio loads MV_ files to restore movies if the MVP projects become corrupt.
Movie Studio (formerly Movie Edit Pro) is a video editor for Windows designed primarily to edit and share home movies. In the software, you can specify the backup interval in the System Settings window (File → Settings → Program... → System.
Movie Studio saves MV_ backup files in the following directory: C:\Users\[User}\Documents\MAGIX\Movie Studio [version]

How to open an MV_ file
You can open MV_ files with MAGIX Movie Studio in Windows. To restore a movie from an MV_ file, select File → Load Backup Movie.
How to convert an MV_ file
MAGIX Movie Studio can convert MV_ files to various file types after restoring them as MVP projects. After restoring them, Movie Studio can convert the MVP files (select File → Export movie) to the following formats:
