What is an MXV file?
An MXV file is a video saved in the proprietary MAGIX Video (MXV) format, which features minimal compression to maintain a high video quality. MAGIX software users typically export video as MXV files to transfer video between MAGIX applications, such as MAGIX Movie Studio (formerly Movie Edit Pro) and MAGIX Photo Manager.
When exporting video from a MAGIX application, you can choose from various presets. For example, if you select File → Export movie → Video as MAGIX Video, you can choose from many presets.
Export settings include the resolution, frame rate, and interlace mode. You can also select a specific range of the video to export if you do not want to export the entire video.
How to open an MXV file
You can open MXV files with various MAGIX applications, including Movie Studio and Photo Manager. For example, to open an MXV file, select File → Open.
