What is a MOO file?
A MOO file contains a program written in the COW programming language. The program's source code consists entirely of variants of the word moo. Developers can use a COW interpreter to run the program a MOO file contains.
More Information
Developer Sean Heber (aka BigZaphod) created the COW programming language in 2003. According to Heber, COW was "designed with the bovine in mind." For that reason, all of COW's instructions are variations of the word moo. The language consists of twelve versions of moo, including moo, mOo, moO, mOO, Moo, MOo, MoO, MOO, OOO, MMM, OOM, and oom.
Developers use these variants of moo to write COW programs in text or source code editors. Typically, developers save these programs as MOO files.
How to open a MOO file
You can open a MOO file with Microsoft Visual Studio Code (multiplatform), GitHub Atom (multiplatform), or any other text or source code editor to view or edit the code it contains. You can use a COW interpreter to run the program a MOO file contains.
