What is an LQM file?
An LQM file is a note created by QuickMemo, an app included on select LG smartphones and tablets, such as the G3 and G4. It contains a note exported from the app, which includes one or more images and annotations applied to the image. LQM files are compressed with Zip compression.
The QuickMemo app allows you to take a screenshot of your phone screen or import an image and add notes, drawings, or memos to the image. When you are finished marking up the image you can save it in the LQM format. This is a convenient feature, however, the LQM format is not widely supported. You can also choose to export the note as a .JPG image or .PDF file, which are more widely supported.
NOTE: QuickMemo comes pre-installed on select LG phones and tablets. It is not available for download.
How to open an LQM file
You can open LQM files in the QuickMemo app installed on select LG smartphones and tablets. The QuickMemo app is not available for download, so you cannot install it on other phones or devices.
If you receive an LQM file and don't have an LG phone or other software to open the file, you can use a Zip utility, such as 7zip or WinZip, to extract the contents of the file since it is Zip-compressed. Among the contents there is a memoinfo.jlqm file, which contains the text of the note. You may have to rename the file to use the .ZIP extension before you can extract its contents.
