What is an LLV file?
An LLV file is a license file used by Locklizard Safeguard PDF Viewer. Typically, an LLV file accompanies an associated .PDC document, in an email sent by a business. Installing the LLV file (and Safeguard PDF Viewer) allows you to view the PDC document.
More Information
Businesses (and other organizations) use Locklizard Safeguard PDF Security to encrypt and control access to sensitive .PDF files. PDFs encrypted by Safeguard PDF Security are saved as PDC files.
If a business wants to allow a user outside their organization to access a PDC file, they can do so by emailing that user the PDC file and an accompanying LLV file. This allows the user to view the PDC file in Locklizard's free Safeguard PDF Viewer, after they install the viewer and the license their LLV file contains.
How to open an LLV file
To use the Locklizard Safeguard PDF Viewer license an LLV file contains:
- Install Locklizard Safeguard PDF Viewer.
- Double-click your LLV file.
You'll then be able to open the PDC file(s) associated with your LLV file.
