What is a GTKRC file?
Settings file used by GTK+, a toolkit used for building graphical user interfaces; stored in a plain text format and contains settings that set the appearance of interface components; often used for theming the Linux GNOME desktop environment, which uses GTK+.
GTKRC files are either stored as a hidden file with no filename prefix (e.g., .gtkrc or .gtkrc-2.0) or as a file with no extension named gtkrc (most often in Windows).
NOTE: GTKRC stands for "GTK Run Commands."
