What is an EXPRESSIONMAP file?

File used by Cubase, a digital audio workstation (DAW) application; contains settings that alter the style of a sampled instrument with player expressions, such as staccatos and tremolos.

More Information

Expression maps are used for defining articulations with different types of instruments so they sound more like an authentic human player and less sampled. Example filenames include Acoustic Bass.expressionmap and Brass Section.expressionmap.
