Printed circuit board (PCB) design created with CircuitMaker, a circuit layout and design program; can be used to create circuits and test them by running simulations.
CircuitMaker is no longer developed and has been replaced by Altium Designer, a electronic product design program. Altium Designer provides a unified product development interface and can be used for a more broad range of hardware design that CircuitMaker.

A CKT file may also be a 2D or 3D drawing or model template created with Kubotek KeyCreator, a professional CAD tool. It stores model or drawing data, similar to a .CKD file, but is used to replicate designs with similar characteristics.
Kubotek KeyCreator is primarily utilized by professionals in mechanical or industrial engineering industries. It was first known as CADKEY Workshop, but CADKEY was then bought by Kubotek, which renamed the software to KeyCreator in 2003.
KeyCreator comes packaged with several pre-made templates. These CKT files are stored in the following directory:
You can also create your own CKT templates that can be re-used to create CKD designs. To create a CKT file, select File → Save As..., then choose "KeyCreator Template Files (*.CKT)" from the "Save as type" dropdown menu.
