What is an ADR file?

An ADR file contains a list of saved bookmarks created by version 12 or earlier of the Opera web browser. It stores URL links to websites users have chosen to save for quick access later, including the website address and the title displayed in the browser. ADR files allow users to export and import their bookmarks to transfer favorite sites between different devices or Opera installations or back them up.

More Information

NOTE: Only versions of Opera using the Presto engine support ADR files. In 2013, Opera moved to Chromium, ending support for ADR files.

How to open an ADR file

You can open ADR files with the Opera web browser. However, it must be version 12 or earlier.

How to convert an ADR file

You can convert an ADR file to an .HTML file with Opera (version 12 and earlier) by importing the ADR file, and then exporting it as an HTML bookmark. This option is helpful if you are looking to import bookmarks from old versions of Opera into a newer version.
