What is a 3MM file?
A 3MM file is a video project created by Microsoft 3D Movie Maker. It contains an editable, animated 3D movie. The 3MM format replaced the .VMM format used by early versions of Movie Maker.

Microsoft 3D Movie Maker was a 3D animation program published as part of the Microsoft Kids initiative. It allowed kids (and others) to create animated 3D movies, complete with 3D characters and environments, sound effects, dialogue, music, and special effects.
Early versions of 3D Movie Maker saved users' movie projects as VMM files. Later versions saved users' projects as 3MM files.
How to open a 3MM file
You can open a 3MM file with Microsoft 3D Movie Maker (Windows), which is available for download from Microsoft's GitHub page. Note, however, that 3D Movie Maker may not run in modern versions of Windows.
