An MPY file is a MicroPython module. It contains binary data, which is usually generated by compiling Python source code (.PY) files. MPY files may also contain machine code compiled from source code files written in other languages, such as C.

MicroPython is a Python implementation that is optimized to run programs on a microcontroller.
