Co je soubor RPKG?
An RPKG file is a game archive used by various video games using IO Interactive’s Glacier 2 Engine, most notably the Hitman series. It contains assets, such as textures, 3-D models, sounds, maps, scripts, and dialogue, that the game loads while you play. The Resource Package (RPKG) format helps the engine organize content and speeds up loading times.

In the Hitman series (Hitman: Absolution, Hitman 2016, Hitman 2 2018, and Hitman 3), RPKG files also serve as patch files. When the game receives an update through Steam or another launcher, new or modified assets arrive in additional RPKG archives.
During startup, the engine merges these patch archives with the existing game data, so players see updated levels, textures, or voice lines without the need to overwrite the original files. For this reason, you should not move or delete any RPKG files in the game’s directory.
POZNÁMKA: Other Glacier-based titles, such as Kane & Lynch 2: Dog Days and the Freedom Fighters remaster, use the same RPKG format (or slight variations of it) to store their game content.

RPKG files are not meant to be opened. Instead, the game the file is packaged with references the archive to load its content. However, modders may unpack RPKG archives with community tools, like the Glacier Modding RPKG Tool, to examine or change game assets.

An RPKG file is a disk image that contains a copy of a Symbian OS device's Z drive. It can be paired with an accompanying SYM.ROM file to allow a user to access Symbian OS programs and data in a Symbian OS emulator. RPKG files are created by the Dumberdore dumping application.

Symbian was an operating system used on several smartphones, including the Nokia N-Gage, N95, 7650, and 3650. It was developed (in succession) by Symbian, Nokia, and Accenture, before being discontinued in the early 2010s.
Users who want to emulate Symbian OS on PCs and Android devices can do so using EKA2L1. This app allows users to load a ROM of both Symbian OS and a Symbian device's Z drive, to use Symbian programs (primarily video games) and files.
Symbian OS ROMs are primarily saved as SYM.ROM files. Disk images of Symbian devices' Z drives are primarily saved as SYM.RPKG files. Users can create RPKG copies of their own Symbian devices' Z drives with Dumberdore, a drive-dumping program for jailbroken Symbian devices. Or, they can use one of the many SYM.RPKG files already available online.
