An FJ file contains source code in the FlipJump programming language, a simple and primitive, one-instruction language. Developers may open and edit FJ files with a source code editor or compile them into executable .FJM files.

Tomhe (short for "Tom Herman") created the FlipJump assembly language. It is a One Instruction Set Computer (OISC) language, meaning it is extremely simple, running from only one instruction. For example, FipJump programs run from one instruction with two operands (a;b).
