A QUID file is a text document created by Scratchware QuidWriter (formerly QuidProQuo), a simple word processor for Windows. It is similar to an .RTF file, containing text that may be formatted in several different styles, such as bold type, italics, page color, different fonts, and font sizes. Scratchware replaced QUID files with .QPQD files in 2024 when it released QuidWriter.

Scratchware released QuidProQuo in 2020 as a rich text editor. The program allows you to create various types of text documents, such as reports, letters, essays, and resumes.
However, Scratchware replaced QuidProQuo in March 2024. It offers many of the same functionality, including altering the font and size of text, but saves documents as QPQD files by default.

You can open QUID files with Scratchware QuidWriter (formerly QuidProQuo) in Windows. To open a QUID file, select .
While you will likely open QUID files with QuidWriter, you can also open them with any text editor or word processor that supports formatted text. Some alternatives to QuidWriter include Microsoft WordPad, Microsoft Word, AbiSource AbiWord, Apple TextEdit, and Apple Pages. However, you will likely need to rename the .quid file extension to .rtf for the text editor to open the file.
