How to show the user library folder in OS X

Step-by-step instructions

Method 1: Temporarily show the user library folder

  1. Select “Go” from the Finder menu.
  2. While the menu is open, press the Option key (⌥).
  3. Select “Library” from the menu when it appears.

Method 2: Always show the user library folder

  1. Open your Home folder (select “Go” from the Finder menu and choose “Home”).
  2. Select View → Show View Options (⌘+J) from the Finder menu bar.
  3. Check the “Show Library Folder” checkbox.
