How to show hidden files in Windows 8

Method 1: Use the "Hidden items" checkbox

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Select View from the menu bar.
3. Check the "Hidden items" checkbox.

Method 2: Use the Control Panel option

1. Open File Explorer.
2. Select "Computer" and click the "Open Control Panel" icon the toolbar.
3. Select "Appearance and Personalization."
4. Click the "Show hidden files and folders" link underneath "Folder Options."
5. Click the "Show hidden files, folders, and drives" radio button.
6. Click "Apply."
