A TT22 file contains a tax return created with TurboTax Canada 2022, a tax preparation tool for Canadians to file federal and provincial taxes. It includes all tax information for a 2022 return, such as income details, deductions, credits, and other financial information a user entered.

As users work on their tax return in TurboTax Canada 2022, they can save their progress as a TT22 file before submitting it electronically or by mail. Users may also save tax returns as TT22 files to store on their computer or storage device as backups to prevent data loss and import into TurboTax Canada 2023 to prefill the next year's return.
OPMERKING: TurboTax Canada assigns file extensions based on the tax year, with .TT20 used for 2020 returns and .TT21 for 2021.

You can open TT22 files with Intuit Canada TurboTax 2022 by selecting File → Open Tax Return and then choosing your tax return. The desktop software is only available for Windows.
If you are filing a tax return in 2023 with TurboTax Canada Online, you can also add your 2022 tax information by importing a TT22 file. To do this, go to My Returns → Start a new return, choose your TurboTax product, select TurboTax Download/CD, click Continue, and then upload your TT22 file.
