Wat is een SPZ-bestand?
An SPZ file may also be a sprite used by the PlayStation 2 version of Half-Life. It contains one or more 2D images used to skin an in-game object, such as a weapon, visual effect, or user interface element. SPZ files are similar to the .SPR files used by other versions of Half-Life.

In Valve Half-Life, players play as scientist Gordon Freeman, who must fend off aliens while escaping a research facility. The game is available for Windows, macOS, Linux, and PlayStation 2 (PS2).
The PS2 version of Half-Life uses different assets than the PC versions. For example, while the PC versions of Half-Life use sprites saved as SPR files, the PS2 version uses sprites saved as SPZ files. These files are compressed SPR files, which must be decompressed before they can be opened with SPR viewers and editors.
Een SPZ-bestand converteren
You can use SPRTOOL, a utility included with the PS2 HL TOOLS toolkit, to convert SPZ files to the .SPR format. Then, you can use any SPR viewer or editor to open your converted sprite.
